Celebrating Local Artists

Things Unseen Theatre is always interested in presenting original works by local talent. We celebrate our area’s playwrights, and allow them to perform or preview their works with us. Contact us today to set up a workshop or performance of your new project.

Stories of Courage

November 6 - November 8 at 7:30
November 9 at 2:00

Directed by Emily Evey

This original script is based on true stories told as part of Amir Marvasti's research on the meaning of courage. Selected stories were shortened, edited, and deidentified for the purpose of our staged performances. We remain grateful to the students who shared their stories with Amir Marvasti as part of his research at Penn State Altoona between 2011-2013. This show is a reader's theatre production based on 35 interviews.

Content Warning: violence, sexual assault, sudden death

Things Unseen is partnering with FSI Victim Services for this production; the some of the stories of courage in the script talk about violence and domestic violence. Someone from FSI will be available each production if anyone needs someone to talk to.

Doors open a half an hour before each performance.

Tickets are $16 for Adults
$14 for Seniors/Students

Past Productions

We began with Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe in 2011, and ever since, we have been producing plays with themes and ideas that are not typically seen on smaller stages. Our past shows have explored a variety of themes intending to open our audiences' eyes to new and different social situations, lifestyles, and world views.
